No. Every registered 19+ curator receives a complimentary starting balance of 250,000 Play Credits upon creating a folio. Play Credits are strictly fictional scorekeeping counters used to experience our specimen plates in Practice Mode. They cannot be bought, topped up, transferred, or redeemed for currency or prizes.

When you stamp a hallmark onto a specimen card or open its practice chamber, our client engine stores the plate slug inside your browser’s local storage under ots:claims and ots:recent. This allows instant filtering in the Specimen Registry and updates the circular meter on the interactive atlas without external tracking.
